Study program of Law

Master’s studies of Law at the Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary are structured around two modules, namely: General Law and Internal Affairs. They have been created to provide students with a broad knowledge in these two areas and consist of carefully selected courses which cover exactly those segments of law which are necessary for their future professions. By mastering this study program, students become qualified for jobs in different state bodies, organizations, institutions, as well as state and private companies and firms.

The primary aim of the master study program in Law is for graduate students to improve their existing knowledge and become experts in their field of law. When they complete master academic studies, as Masters of Law/Legal Sciences, they are expected to be able to handle any new situation or professional challenge with confidence.

Master academic studies last one year and are worth 60 ECTS points. Upon completion of the master study program - Law, a student is awarded the academic title of a MASTER of LAW. Having completed master’s studies, a student can continue with his/her education by enrolling in one of our doctoral study programs which last three years.

The teaching process is organized in small groups and based on mentoring students, which enables direct contact between a student and a professor. The emphasis is on the individual development of students, development of their creativity, critical thinking, team work, functional knowledge and usage of the latest technology. Occasional visits by experts from different fields contribute to the quality of teaching.

  • By conquering the module - General law, students get enabled to do various jobs within the legal profession in different bodies, organizations, institutions, both state and private companies and firms.

  • The Internal Affairs Module of master academic studies provides the students not only with a broad body of knowledge, but also very specific and narrow competencies in the area of internal affairs, necessary for jobs in the police, military and/or security agencies and services. Upon completion of the master study program of Law, Internal Affairs Module, students become qualified for jobs under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
