Student Parliament

Student Parliament is a body at the Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary in Novi Sad, University Business Academy in Novi Sad, through which students exercise their rights and protect their interests.

The Parliament enables students to be actively involved in the educational and research work at the Faculty.

All students of the Faculty have the right to vote and to be elected for a representative in the Student Parliament. The elections for members of Student Parliament are held in April each year and voting is done by secret ballot.

MEMBERS OF STUDENT PARLIAMENT

On 27 April, 2012 there was a constitutional meeting during which the mandates of the elected Student Parliament members were verified. The agenda of the meeting consisted of the following items:

  • Verification of the mandates of the elected Student Parliament members
  • Appointment of Student Parliament members into the Faculty bodies
  • Election of the President of Student Parliament
ELSA (The European Law Students' Association)

ELSA (The European Law Students' Association) represents an international, independent, non-political and unprofitable association of students of law and recent graduates, who are interested in promoting and improving international understanding, cooperation, legal ethics and establishing personal contacts with the students of law coming from different countries and judicial systems. ELSA members also focus on academic and professional excellence by international standards. Besides Serbia, ELSA exists in almost every European country and it currently has about 40,000 members. As such, it represents the most powerful association of law students in the world. It was founded in 1981 by Austrian, German and Hungarian students of law, whereas in our country it was founded in 1987 with the seat in Belgrade. Through its activities, ELSA contributes to the development of legal sciences and professional and academic development of students, while fostering mutual understanding and promoting social responsibility of law students and young lawyers. ELSA helps its members prepare for professional life in an international environment, through mutual understanding, intercultural cooperation and a large variety of activities and projects the Association offers.
