4. Current state of affairs in business legislation as a determinant of regional economic development

On 20 December 2013, in the conference hall of the Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary, University Business Academy in Novi Sad, there was the 10th traditional scientific gathering on the topic "Current state of affairs in business legislation as a determinant of regional economic development".

The 10th traditional scientific gathering was international in character and was organized in accordance with the idea of prof. Slavko Carić. The original goal of the scientific gathering basically remained unchanged: to observe and analyze the current period of great transformations of the legal system in a competent way, particularly focusing on the business legislation. This year’s international conference had the same goal. The presenting authors and speakers were famous professors and other prominent experts from the whole region. The members of the Organizational Board were: prof. Marko Carić, Ph.D., as President, prof. Marijana Dukić Mijatović, Ph.D., prof. Željko Bjelajac, Ph.D. and prof. Milan Počuča, Ph.D. The members of the Conference Programme Board were: prof. Marijana Dukić Mijatović, Ph.D., as President, prof. Gordana Stanković, Ph.D, prof. Ranka Račić, Ph.D, prof. Arsen Janevski, Ph.D, prof. Branko Vučković, Ph.D. and prof. Milan Počuča, Ph.D.

Conference Proceedings were published after this scientific gathering and the Editor-in-Chief was prof. Marijana Dukić Mijatović, Ph.D. The publication was supported by the City of Novi Sad Administration for Culture and Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary, in line with the signed Contract on co-financing the project entitled "Current state of affairs in business legislation as a determinant of regional economic development" no. X-418-9/13-188 as of 11 December, 2013. This project was approved with the goal of improving the cultural and tourist offer of the Municipality of Novi Sad. Everything was harmonized with the Action plan for conducting the necessary activities in line with the initiative of the City of Novi Sad to announce candidacy for the 2020 European Capital of Culture, and, as such, it was rated as a project of exceptional significance. The project was also said to be of great importance for harmonizing the state economic and legal systems with the EU legislation and contributing to faster economic growth.
